Meet the Team

After 14 years with her first salon, Lauren decided to take a leap and buy her own salon, Backstage Hair Design, now known as Backstage.  She has currently been styling, cutting, and coloring hair for almost 16 years.

Fun fact, Lauren did all of her bridesmaid’s hair at her wedding. A few of her personal hobbies are gardening, traveling, and reading.

Meet Shae! Shae joined us in the summer of 2023, taking on the role of Salon Manager. We’re absolutely thrilled to have her behind the scenes envisioning new ideas and elevating the Backstage experience not only for our guests but for our salon professionals as well.

Shae also works behind the chair where she has a passion for creating a safe, comfortable experience for her clients and making them feel beautiful from the inside out. Shae is a licensed cosmetologist since January 2015.  When she’s not in the salon she loves soaking up family time with her husband Will, their two sons Landon and Ace, and their goldendoodle Wrigley.

Kris has been a stylist for over 40 years and loves treating his guests with excellent service. He’s a master at listening to just what each client wants so that they leave happy every time! Kris has been with Backstage since March 2020 when his salon at a nursing facility closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. He loves building and playing guitars, working on vintage cars, and spending time with his wife, Lisa.

Candy has been involved in the beauty industry for the last 28 years. She went back to the classroom in 2000 when she received her Master Instructor’s license, educating herself to the highest level. After her move to Tulsa in 2005, she committed herself to growing her business while building a passion for learning new techniques, and working hard to create that special hair magic for her guests!

She applied her independent, hardworking nature to stepping out on her own and joined the Backstage team in December 2021. Candy specializes in short hair, fun styles, fashion colors, and creating the perfect masterpiece for her guests! She brings an honest, straight forward approach when consulting with guests which provides them with the feedback they need when deciding their tailored look.

Her educational background also extends to a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. She’s even a self-proclaimed RockHounder!

Hannah specializes in the world’s best facial but also provides waxing, services including brow, lip, and large body areas. Hannah treats her guests with the utmost care while providing a calm, relaxing environment in her private suite. She goes above and beyond to make sure her guests meet their full relaxation potential.

Hannah graduated from Broken Arrow Beauty College in the Fall of 2022 and immediately made Backstage her work home. She also enjoys the outdoors and makes a habit of soaking in the sun. Her hobbies are hiking, camping, and travel.

Haley made a location change in late 2021 from Northwestern Oklahoma after getting married and completing a Bachelor’s degree in Education. While moving to Tulsa, she developed a passion for hair and making people feel great about themselves. This sparked her interest in cosmetology and led her on a path to Broken Arrow Beauty College where she will graduate in June 2023.

While in the salon Haley enjoys precision haircuts, lived in color, and extensions. Her other hobbies include reading, nature, and spending time with her husband, Justin.

Say hi to our newest professional, Tish! Tish is also new to the Tulsa area but has decided to put down roots and make T-Town her home.

Tish has a passion for bringing out her guest’s inner beauty and confidence through expressive design whether that’s depicted through their hairstyle, makeup application, or nail art. She does it all! Her experience runs deep and is in tune with her client’s desired appearance. She’s a great listener and it shows through her work.

Tish’s dream to become a part of the professional beauty industry started at a young age. She’s been coiffing and cutting (then hiding) her sister’s hair at the ripe old age of eight years old. She also enjoys gardening, spending quality time with her partner, John, and raising their three fur babies together in Broken Arrow!

Tish graduates from Paul Mitchell in Fall 2023 and will be joining Backstage thereafter.
